ISO/IEC 27033
Plan, design and operate secure networks using the ISO/IEC 27033 series.
ISO/IEC 27033: what it is and why it matters
ISO/IEC 27033 gives guidelines for planning, designing, implementing, operating and monitoring network security. Part 1 gives the overview and concepts, Part 2 design and implementation guidance, Part 3 reference networking scenarios, Part 4 security gateways, Part 5 VPNs, Part 6 wireless access and Part 7 network virtualisation.
Training translates the series into design and operating decisions for modern networks.

Training, examination and certification are different steps
ISO/IEC 27033 is a guidance series. PECB offers a Lead Network Security Manager programme built on it.
- PECB publishes the course as 5 days including the exam on day 5; its handbook describes 80 multiple-choice questions and a 70% pass mark.
- PECB documents describe the exam domains differently (seven in the brochure, five in the handbook), so we confirm details before you enrol.
- The course page lists understanding of the series and general network security knowledge as prerequisites.
Certification bodies set and can change their own exam, eligibility and renewal rules. The details below are what the body publishes; we confirm the current position with you before you enrol.
